Boîte - Exhibition 2010, Linz, Austria

MA Time-based media - installation and text

This exhibition brought together several interconnected projects in a re-interpretation of Duchamp's Boîtes, which assembled texts, drawings, and small sculptural remakes into discrete containers.

The project investigated the function of images, obsolete technologies, and notions of temporality.

Boîte - Video Works

Boîte was configured as a time-based installation, where each video component followed a particular rhythm, carefully tuned to interact with the other video works in the exhibition. Together they created an oscillating image- and soundscape for this installation. In keeping with this concept, the videos below are set to auto-play side by side, and are layed-out in groups or pairs that simulate their arrangement in the installation (audio can be un-muted manually for each video)
